lyrics

Noah’s been buying up all of the lumber for miles
He’s got it stacked high by his derelict shack
Those few who have seen it just wonder and laugh
They think that old Noah has cracked

Double by double he gathers preserves in his cellar
The postman leaves packages heaped on the porch
One case full of whiskey and two of black powder
He thinks that old Noah has cracked

But Noah feels a drop of rain on every sunny day
Sees the writing on the walls that keep him shut away
He knows the end is coming
The wiser ones are running
They build their bunkers deep within the mountain and pray
Oh they pray

For dawn! The promise will come with the dawn
Alight on the wings of a dove, an olive for peace
We won’t be destroyed in The Flood

All in God’s timing the sky finally broke on old Noah
The clouds poured repentance upon his tin roof
And instead of a flood that would ravage the nations,
A rainbow stretched over the earth

Now Noah sees a bit of sun on every rainy day
His face is bright with hope and light that fear cannot betray
No we know an end is coming
The wicked ones are running
They live in blow-up castles that will surely wash away one day

But dawn! The promise has come with the dawn
Alight on the wings of a dove, an olive for peace
We won’t be destroyed in a flood
